The JR Moving Services network is helping thousands in the cost of living crisis & saving our customers money by reducing their junk removal fees
We want to update all our customers and fans on the progress of our free purging service that we are offering our customers throughout the Niagara Region since the beginning of 2023. Together, our company, customers and community partners (GBF in Grimsby and Project SHARE in Niagara Falls) have worked hard by getting necessities at an extremely reasonable cost to families in Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Grimsby and all across the Niagara Region. Since the beginning of 2023 JR Moving Services and customers have donated items that have filled up a 8.5 foot by 20 foot storage unit to GBF in Grimsby.
How our customers in St. Catharines & Niagara Falls are helping
Our customers are playing a big role in the Purge First With JR campaign. We have given our customers a list of items and necessities that we know GBF needs for families in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Grimsby and throughout the Niagara Region. Before moving day they are organizing these items and having them ready for us on or before there moving day. At JR Moving Services we move people who are in the middle of all sorts of situations. a couple examples are the single mother who doesn’t have time to go through her items because she has to tend to her kids while working 40-60 hour weeks. The senior whose kids left the nest and they are going through the dreaded downsize. The couples going through a divorce and throwing stuff that can be donated in the landfill out of anger. The people that have no idea about recycling and reusing certain items.
How JR Moving Services is helping
Our moving company is educating our customers on the proper disposal methods of items and helping people save time by providing a free donation pickup service on or before their moving day. When we provide packing services for our customers who want to take advantage of our free purging service we simply pack and organize donated items. It doesn’t stop there. We also advise our customers how to properly recycle items that can’t be donated. Once we have accumulated our customers items for donation we than transport them to GBF and Project SHARE at no cost.
How GBF & Project SHARE is helping
The donated items to GBF are used for reselling at their store. The collected revenues will be used to support their food bank and other programs. GBF Community Services assists individuals and households in meeting their basic needs. Through their programs, they have been helping the Grimsby, St. Catharines & Niagara communities in achieving self-sufficiency for more than 56 years.

How we plan to move forward
When people are planning a move they either are hands-on and do the purge themselves or they hire the service out to a junk removal service. Some of the junk removal services out there do not properly dispose items or fail to donate items that can be reused. With our free purging service we offer a full moving solution and we are able to put money in Canadians pockets by getting rid of the junk removal element or reducing junk removal service costs. We will continue to help people affected by the cost of living crisis and educate people on how to dispose household items in an environmentally sustainable way.
